چکیده

Soil salt-water dynamics in the Yangtze River Estuary (YRE) is complex and soil salinity an obstacle to regional agricultural production ecological environment YRE. Runoff into sea reduced during impoundment period as result of water-storing process Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) upper reaches River, which causes serious seawater intrusion. a problem due shallow saline groundwater under intrusion In this research, we focused on temporal variation spatial distribution characteristics YRE using geostatistics combined with proximally sensed information obtained by electromagnetic induction (EM) survey method typical years TGR. The EM proximal sensing was applied perform field Estuary, allowing quick determination quantitative assessment from 2006 2017. Spatial and Temporal Variability of Water Quality for Karun River, in Upstream and Downstream Gotvand Dam

In this study, the spatial and temporal variability of water quality including monthly series of TDS, EC, So4, Cl, Ca and Na in common statistical period 1993-2014 was evaluated for the Karun River. This assessment is based on qualitative data stations including Susan in the upstream of Gotvand reservoir, Gotvand, Mollasani and Ahvaz in the downstream. To determine the parameters trend process,...

Spatial-temporal distribution of salinity and temperature in the Oued Loukkos estuary, Morocco: using vertical salinity gradient for estuary classification

BACKGROUND Several different classifications to characterize estuarine systems have been proposed. In this present paper, one of the most important estuaries in North Africa, the Oued Loukkos (Morocco), forms a case-study for proposing a systematic classification of this particular tidal estuary according to the vertical salinity gradient. FINDINGS This study, conducted using a CTD, shows tha...

Monitoring for Temporal Changes in Soil Salinity using Electromagnetic Induction Techniques

struments have received the most attention for fieldscale agricultural applications, particularly the EM-38. Electromagnetic induction surveys are often used in practice to In 1992, Dı́az and Herrero discussed the monitoring estimate field-scale soil salinity patterns, and to infer changing salinity of soil salinity conditions with time in two fields using conditions with time. We developed a st...

Spatial-Temporal Variations of Chlorophyll-a in the Adjacent Sea Area of the Yangtze River Estuary Influenced by Yangtze River Discharge

Carrying abundant nutrition, terrigenous freshwater has a great impact on the spatial and temporal heterogeneity of phytoplankton in coastal waters. The present study analyzed the spatial-temporal variations of Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration under the influence of discharge from the Yangtze River, based on remotely sensed Chl-a concentrations. The study area was initially zoned to quantita...

Spatial and Temporal Variation in Copepod Community in the Helleh River Estuary – South Coast of Iran, Persian Gulf

Copepods are the main zooplankton assemblages in most tropical and semi-tropical estuaries. In this research, copepod population dynamics were investigated in Helleh River estuary, Persian Gulf during four seasons beginning from summer 2011 to spring 2012.  Samples were taken using plankton net with mesh size of 140 µm and vertical towing from 5 fixed-stations in mid-season. Results showed that...
